Back From a Nordic Walk

I just returned from my first Nordic walk.  You might be thinking just as I did, what in the hell is a Nordic walk?  Put simply it is a walk in the snow with ski poles.  It was six degrees when we started and after ten minutes I began to sweat and had to remove my gloves.  The sun was shining down as snow drifted down from the trees.

It's amazing how my perspective of this adventure changed when I thought of it as a Nordic walk instead of a hike.  I have to say that using the poles forced me to work harder.  We even go lost which leads to great adventure.

My mind wandered and began to dream about skiing down the tracked trail towing my daughter in my newly purchased chariot on skis.  It was a moment where I felt lucky to live where I do while I listened to myself breath.

Lesson:
Call it whatever you have to if it will lead to enhanced perspective and enjoyment.  It's getting harder these days to hear yourself breath.

Peace out.
