5 Lessons in Compassion From Mother Teresa

Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
small things with great love

Mother Teresa is one of my personal heroes.  She unleashed amplified compassion directly upon the face of ugliness, disease, and despair - with a smile on her face and peace in her heart.

I would go one step further and say it's not just the poor that need our love and compassion, it's everyone (and everything - I know, easier said than done).

Here are my five favorite quotes from Mother Teresa.

1.  "We can do no great things; only small things with great love."

2.  "God loves a cheerful giver. She or he gives best who gives with a smile."

3.  "Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless."

4.  "The poor do not need our sympathy and our pity. The poor need our love and compassion."

5.  “I would rather make mistakes in kindness and compassion than work miracles in unkindness and hardness.”

If you could see me, I'd be smiling.  Compassion has been the focus of my world for the last few weeks and it has been paying beautiful dividends in the bank of my spirit.

Peace Out,
