The Rules: You Own Everthing

The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own.  You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president.  You realize that you control your own destiny. 

Oh man it's so easy to lay your issues at the foot of someone else.  I find myself wanting to do it all the time.  I've blamed my mom, dad, brother, wife, and kids for so many things that were my problem to begin with.  

The Rule is this - in the end you own everything.  You are in charge.  At the minimum you control your reaction to any given situation.  Imagine what happens when you take the energy that comes from blaming others and direct it towards improving yourself.  Mr. Ellis gives good advice.
